We did a sold-out screening in Portland in July... all went well. There's a new review in Shannon Wheeler's fresh magazine "Too Much Coffee Man #2". Oh... and Steve has been arrested again for trying to tilt the Galaga at Fireworks in Sunset Mall in San Angelo. An undercover security guard approached him and when Steve tried to make a getaway, a second undercover security agent pepper-sprayed him in the face. Video Free Steve may be harder to complete than we thought. Sigh.

Just found out that Ugh Film's only competition for mega-celebrity status within their home town of San Angelo, TX just got some bad publicity. Apparently Mr. Colby Donaldson, one of the last remaining "Survivor" contestants, had a police report surface on the Smoking Gun site which he'd rather forget.

Festival reports: The first annual Steve by Stevewest Film Festival and Media Exhibition in Austin, TX went swimmingly. Steve Glenn moderated a panel entitled "Video Duplication in the New Millineum: Cyber-Dubs." The UT El Paso International Film and Video Festival flew in Jules and Amy were, along with avante-garde filmmaker George Kuchar, to speak on DV filmmaking. It was a hoot. Equally a hoot was the USA Film Festival screening in Dallas. Big hair, denim, Tony Lama boots, Chaps Cologne...what more could you want.

Jules, Ryan, and Amy head to Park City, Utah to screen RFS at the Lost Film Festival during the world renowned Sundance Film Festival. 26 celebrities, 16 parties, and 4 hot tubs later, the dudes from UGH Films were just about plum-tuckered from all that Hollywood schmoozin'. Variety gave the film another fantastic review on Monday the 22nd. The timing couldn't have been more perfect because people in Park City already knew about the film from that review and it made our presence in the middle of all those festivals that much more meaningful. Jules and Ryan went snowboarding one day and found themselves on the lift with two snowboard instructors named... Steve and Dirk (the names of the two main characters in RFS)! Pictures are on their way, thanks Kayren!

The San Francisco Independent Film Festival sreening was "the bomb," as the kids say out here "Cali." Drunk mutants, tequila, and 2 sold out screenings made for some wonderfully foggy memories. Unfortunately, Mr. Glenn could not attend the festival due to his recent deer spotlighting offense.

Radio Free Steve screens at the San Francisco Independent Film Festival. Mr. Glenn is quite excited because the movie has an awesome Saturday night airtime and is conveniently located at the theater that serves alcohol. Is the festival coordinator suggesting people should be drunk to see this show or is he just trying to keep Mr. Glenn happy?!

B-INDEPENDENT magazine bestows Radio Free Steve the award of Best Underground Movie of 2000! Though their website could use some help, the editors wrote a fantastic review of the film.

MICROFILM magazine gives Radio Free Steve a glowing review, which is unfortunately not available online yet.

Radio Free Steve screens at Baltimore's Microcinefest 2000 with fabulous success! Even though Mr. Glenn couldn't make it up for the festival, Baltimore's weekly City Paper was compelled to mention the film several times in an article about the event. Though the article makes some hilarious typos and completely misrepresents the movie, Microcinefest Organizer Skizz Cyzyk scores by calling the movie "one of those odd birds that I'm proud to be showing."

Radio Free Steve screens at the Austin Film Festival. Mr. Glenn attends and subsequently initiates a fist fight with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon director Ang Lee after a flamboyant artistic disagreement. Apparently Mr. Glenn thought Mr. Lee's movie was a bad prequel to the recent cinematic release of Dungeons & Dragons.

Auteur Steve Glenn and director Jules Beesley are interviewed at the local news station in San Angelo, Texas. Steve delivers the nightly news and speaks about the regional phenomenon of parkay butter bottles near the salsa at San Angelo Mexican restaurants.
